Download Discord to Join Our Conversations

Discord is the way the GCGC communicates on a daily basis. Anyone can join our server and starts in a “visitor” role. In order to get access to the whole server, you will need to 1.) become a member by filling out the form 2.) meet with the Founders – this turns your role into “member.” We do this for the safety of our members. We have several channels for different topics that we all participate in, and want to keep our Discord community a safe and fun place hang out.

Using Your Cell Phone or Tablet

  1. Download the Discord app from the app store and open the app once it is fully downloaded.
  2. If you do not already have an account, you will need to create an account to register. Information that they will ask for:
    • a display name – this is the name everyone will see when you chat
    • a username
    • your email address or phone number
      • be sure to verify your email address in case you ever forget your password
    • a password
  3. Join GCGC’s server by clicking on the link: https://discord.gg/ebm5ac4wEV

Downloading Discord to Your Windows Device

  1. Download the Discord file by going to the Discord Download Page: https://discord.com/download
    • Click on the link that says “Download for Windows”
  2. A message box will pop up asking you if you want to download the DiscordSetup.exe file. Once the file is fully downloaded, double-click on the file to start installing Discord to your computer.
  3. Once the program is fully installed, open the program.
  4. It will ask you to login using your Discord account.
    • If you do not have an account, you can create one with the following info:
      • a display name – this is the name everyone will see when you chat
      • a username
      • your email address or phone number
        • be sure to verify your email address so you are able to recover your password if you ever forget it
      • a password
  5. Once you’re logged in, join GCGC’s server by clicking the link: https://discord.gg/ebm5ac4wEV

Downloading Discord to Your Apple Device

  1. When you visit Discord.com, Discord will automatically detect that you are using an Apple device and prompt you to download Discord.
    • If you do not see the Download for Mac option, then click on Downloads at the top of the page and select the download for your Apple device.
  2. Click the button that says “download for Mac”
  3. Double-click on Discord.dmg to start installing Discord.
  4. To complete the installation, a small window will appear that shows the Discord icon and the Applications folder. Left-click and drag the Discord icon onto the Applications folder.
  5. Join GCGC’s server by clicking on the link: https://discord.gg/ebm5ac4wEV
