VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Gallatin Community Gun Club is powered by volunteers, and we’d love to have you join our team. Whether you have years of experience or simply want to give back to the community, there are many ways to get involved.
We’re looking for volunteers to help with: event setup and cleanup, community outreach, fundraising, range safety, instruction, and more. We also welcome members with specialized skills, including first aid, preparedness, mental health, education, and nonprofit experience.
Volunteering is a great way to build new skills, meet like-minded people, and make a meaningful impact while supporting our mission of providing safe, inclusive firearm safety and preparedness education. If you need volunteer hours for school, work, or another organization, we’re happy to help document your service whenever possible.
No matter how much time you can give, whether it’s a few hours at an event or ongoing support, we appreciate every volunteer who helps strengthen our community.
Become a Range Safety Officer (RSO)
Before becoming a firearms instructor, every GCGC volunteer begins by learning the fundamentals of range safety. Our volunteer pathway is designed to help members build knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills over time. Volunteers interested in teaching first complete a Range Safety Officer (RSO) training, where they learn to safely manage live-fire environments, assist students, and support instructors during classes and events. As they gain experience, demonstrate sound judgment, and develop instructional skills, RSOs may have the opportunity to train as instructors in the subjects they’re passionate about. This step-by-step approach helps ensure our volunteers are well-prepared while maintaining the safe, welcoming, and professional environment that defines the Gallatin Community Gun Club.

Become a Stop the Bleed Instructor
You don’t need to be a paramedic, nurse, or medical professional to make a difference. If you have little to no first aid experience but are passionate about helping others, becoming a Stop the Bleed instructor is a great place to begin your teaching journey.
At Gallatin Community Gun Club, we’ll help guide you through the training process, build your confidence, and provide opportunities to gain experience teaching alongside seasoned instructors before leading classes on your own. Stop the Bleed focuses on simple, life-saving skills that anyone can learn, making it an excellent introduction to emergency medical education.
By becoming an instructor, you’ll help empower members of our community with the knowledge and confidence to respond to life-threatening bleeding emergencies. It’s a rewarding way to volunteer, develop your leadership and public speaking skills, and make a real impact, no prior medical background required.
