Member Spotlight: Daniel

Daniel has been part of Gallatin Community Gun Club since the very first meeting and currently serves as a member of the GCGC Leadership Team, helping support the club’s mission, members, and growing community. His involvement reflects exactly what GCGC is about: connection, preparedness, and looking out for one another.

Before joining GCGC, Daniel felt that the Bozeman gun scene was largely underground and centered almost exclusively around hunting. As someone who openly carried, he often encountered judgment or uncomfortable questions about why he owned a firearm at all. When he learned about GCGC’s first Meet & Greet through a Reddit post, it stood out as something different, a more open, welcoming space grounded in community rather than stereotypes.

Coming in with an experienced background, Daniel has continued to grow through the club, gaining new pistol skills alongside something just as important: meaningful friendships. He’s attended nearly every Meet & Greet and plays an active role in welcoming new members, helping others feel comfortable and supported from their very first interaction.

To Daniel, community means looking out for and helping everyone: friends, neighbors, and family alike. He believes we’re all in this together and that being neighborly matters. That mindset carries into his leadership role, where he supports members of all experience levels: from first-time shooters to those seeking deeper connection or preparedness skills.

Preparedness is a core focus for Daniel. He’s actively working on being more ready in everyday life, from building supplies to maintaining a well-equipped vehicle kit. For him, personal safety includes everyday carry essentials, situational awareness, and knowing multiple routes home, practical steps that reflect responsible, thoughtful planning.

Outside of GCGC, Daniel enjoys history, reading, and hopes to spend more time playing frisbee golf when the weather improves. He’s a tea drinker at heart, especially peach white green tea, and a devoted seltzer fan. When it’s time to recharge, he prefers quieter local spots and unapologetically values rest.

For anyone feeling unsure or nervous about joining GCGC, Daniel keeps it simple: try it. He describes the club as genuinely welcoming and refreshingly free of stereotypes. “Everyone is welcome here,” he says, and through his leadership and presence, he helps make that true.

Daniel’s Discord is always on, and he’s always willing to connect, a steady, approachable presence within the GCGC community.
