February 21st marked our one-year anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than with a .22LR range day on February 22. Coincidentally, 22 people came out to spend the day with us. We grilled hot dogs, soaked up a surprisingly perfect winter day (no snow!), and enjoyed a laid-back afternoon on the range.

We brought a mix of .22LR rifles and pistols and spent a few easygoing hours shooting. Some folks came to dial in their fundamentals, others came to hang out and connect; either way, it was a great chance to meet new faces, catch up with familiar ones, and enjoy some time ringing steel together.
Safety always comes first for us. Certified Range Safety Officers were present, the firing line was clearly marked with safety rules in place, and both medical kits and fire extinguishers were easily accessible throughout the day.

What a year it’s been. We started with just two classes, and now we’re offering 16 different classes with the help of 14 incredible volunteer instructors. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has shown up, volunteered, supported us, and helped make this one-year milestone possible.
We say this a lot because it matters: GCGC is about more than firearms. We’re about first aid, mutual aid, preparedness, and building real community. We believe:
- You do not need to own a firearm to belong here
- You don’t need to be “into guns” to care about safety
- You do need people you can trust, learn with, and lean on
Whether it’s range days, medical training, mutual aid projects, board game nights, hikes, or just standing around a grill talking about life, the heart of this club is the people in it.
Thank you for giving your time, energy, and care to this community. You’re the reason GCGC exists.
Here’s to one year down, and many more to come. 💛
