As of May 2025, the the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office no longer accepts ammunition.

Unspent ammunition is treated as household hazardous waste (HHW), and can be taken to the Bozeman Convenience Site.

HHW Drop-Off Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Cost: Free for Gallatin County residents
